2024 paralympic games: Team Nigeria will make nation proud – PCN
Suleiman Isah, Secretary General of the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria (PCN), has assured the nation of a strong performance at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, scheduled for August 28 to September 8.
In Paris on Wednesday, Isah announced that the 35 members of Team Nigeria, who have been training in Germany for the past two weeks, will arrive in Paris on Thursday. The team comprises 23 athletes, seven coaches, and five medical personnel, and they will head directly to the Games Village, which opened today.
Nigeria will compete in four sports: para badminton, para powerlifting, para athletics, and para table tennis. Isah also mentioned that Sports Minister John Enoh has promised financial incentives for the athletes, with $15,000 for gold, $10,000 for silver, and $5,000 for bronze medals.
Isah expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and encouraged Nigerians both at home and abroad to support the athletes with their prayers. He assured that Team Nigeria is well-prepared and determined to make the nation proud.
