2023: South-East people are too wise to vote Labour Party — Prince Nweze
Joel Oladele, Abuja
The South-East Vice Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Prince Nweze Onu has said the people of South-East won’t waste their vote on Labour Party come 2023 presidential election as they are wise and know which party is strong enough to win an election and the one which stands no chance of winning.
Prince Nweze Onu stated this while fielding questions from journalists in Abuja recently, to justify the choice of Bishop Isaac Idahosa as the Vice Presidential candidate of NNPP.
Recall that Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has announced Bishop Idahosa as his running mate, a choice Nweze considered as the best as it serves the interest of the South-East People and Nigeria as a whole.
According to him, with the cleric, people will prefer voting for NNPP to any other party as it has doused the tension amongst the Christian community whose dominance are the Igbos.
“The claim that the South-East have resolved to vote for the Labour Party (LP) is nothing close to the truth. Our people are wiser and can’t afford to put their eggs in one basket, they know who can win elections and will vote NNPP.
“The South-East is dominated by Christians who believe that a joint ticket of a Muslim and Christian represents their interest and covers their bargaining.
“Most of the residents are members of Bishop Idahosa’s church who in one way or the other have benefitted from his biblical works. His addition to the ticket has returned hope and confidence on the candidature of Senator Kwankwaso.”
He explained that the party in South-East has witnessed influx of membership adding that with the quality of candidates the party parades in South-East it will be easy to win comfortably and urged supporters of the party in the zone to be resolute in their supports as strategical plans are on the way.
