A concerned Nigerian and Head, Dredging & Marine Operations, Burnsville Integrated Services Limited, Mr Deji Mustapha has thrown his weight of support behind the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi, urging the entire nation to support what he said is a noble call to enable him emerge as the next President of Nigeria in the forthcoming general elections.

Mustapha made his feelings known in an interview with journalists in Rivers State at Port Harcourt.

According to him, Obi is the only candidate among the lot that has all it takes to fix Nigeria.

This, he said, he has demonstrated as Governor of Anambra State, leaving billions of naira in the coffers of governnment when he left office, a feat that is unprecedented in Nigeria.

Mustapha said he was happy and confident that with new the Electoral Act, coupled with the introduction of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS)  by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), nobody will be able to rig the next election in the country.

He, therefore, called on all and sundry to get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and vote for Peter Obi, who he said has integrity even before the International Community and is prepared to right the wrong in the country’s history.

On whether he thinks Obi can get the support of electorates in the west, Mustapha said even in Lagos, there will be what he called ‘undecided votes.’

“You don’t expect a Danfo driver in Lagos to openly declare support for Peter Obi because of intimidation, but when the dice is cast, his vote will go to the Labour Party Candidate. I can assure you that,” he said.

He applauded former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Elder statesman, Edwin Clarke for speaking out in support of the candidate of the Labour Party and called on all well-meaning Nigerians to support the ‘noble cause’ to save the country from total collapse.

He recalled that when Obasanjo was President of Nigeria, the International Community wrote off all the external debt of the nation because of the integrity and regard they have for Obasanjo.

Mustapha described him as the Chairman of all the Presidents in the world today, “so for him to have come out and support Obi should be taken seriously.”

He condemned the attempt of some politicians, who he described as clowns that are allegedly asking people to vote for wrong candidates in the February general elections in Nigeria and urged them to have a rethink.

He assured them that such ploy will not work, as Nigerians are wiser now and can only vote for the right choice.

Mustapha also lauded the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele for his courage in sanitising the country’s economy and remove undue advantage from the ‘money-bag politicians’ in the next generation elections through the redesigning of the old Naira notes.

He urged him to sustain the tempo, as he has the support of patriotic Nigerians in the current reformation agenda.
