2023: NNPP southwest group drums support for Kwankwaso

Bankole Taiwo, Abeokuta

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has berated Southwest governors for doing so little to preserve education legacy set by late Yoruba Leader, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

Oladipupo Olayokun, the National Secretary of the party stated this in Abeokuta during the campaign launch of NNPP South-West Support Group for Kwankwaso.

Olayokun explained that late Awolowo used education to establish the equality of his people and Nigerians, saying that the reverse is the case presently.

The NNPP secretary noted that education determined the growth of any nation, saying that the presidential candidate of the party in 2023 general election, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso had taken education as his priority.

” The governments of the Southwest has scored zero in the area of education . They have destroyed the legacy set by Awolowo. All states have rubbished education in terms of content and quality.

” Kwankwaso has a rich history of promoting education in Nigeria. He has 3, 600 students he has offered scholarships, over 400 students in universities home and abroad courtesy of Kwankwaso. He knows the value of education,” he said.

Olayokun stressed that it was important to look at the antecedents of all the contestants , saying Nigerians should elect someone that could manage the nation’s resources in order for the country to progress.

” Kwankwaso is a good product to market. He has made his mark in executive and legislature. He has education and exposure in abundance.

” Nigeria has come to a level where we should say enough is enough. We need people that can manage our resources for us to move forward,” he said.

Earlier, Olaposi Oginni, the Ogun State NNPP Chairman , explained that Kwankwaso had all the qualities and the fear of God to be the next president of the country .

Oginni stated that education would be the major priority of Kwankwaso, adding that the presidential candidate of the party had the “Awolowo spirit” in him which he would replicate.

” NNPP will take over Southwest. We are about to witness a new Nigeria. Kwankwaso is the only candidate that has the charisma, capacity and the zeal to take Nigeria to the next level of development,” he said.
