2023: Igbos, Middle Belt, Christian leaders against Muslim-Muslim ticket

The Igbos and Middle Belters along with some Christian leaders who fall out with Muslim-Muslim ticket have taken over Labour Party (LP) in providing office structures in Kaduna and some other parts of northern Nigeria States.

Igbos, mostly the young people and their middle belt counterpart as well as the Christians leaders are volunteering their money to pay for offices premises for LP at ward and local governments level free of charge.

“In some places they also volunteered to support in providing office at state and zones in the north, a labour party chieftain and former Kaduna gubernatorial aspirants of the party Dr. shunom Adinga has revealed.

Christian leaders spearheaded by Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna Chairman, Rev. John Hayab earlier said that it’s an insult on Christians that it has no competent person to assume number two of the ruling party.

“In Kaduna and most northern States, these guys have taken itvupon themselves in securing and renting labour party offices in many parts of Kaduna and other parts of the northern States, they’re doing it.”

Findings also reveal that the Peter Obi LP led supporters group formed in Kaduna have a number of Igbos and middle belters with one Barr. A. Esugwo as the legal adviser, all in voluntary services.

The story in Kafanchan is more, where it was alleged that the Igbos in the area are waiting to hear if anyone has problem of money to rent or pay for LP office accommodation only, and the money is made available from nowhere.

Southern Kaduna Senatorial candidate of the LP Michael Auta has also team up with the Igbos and middle belt politicians also in providing offices for the party in Kaduna towns and communities.
