2023 Elections: Prominent PDP elder, Bojo-Bodinga defects to APC in Sokoto
Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Alhaji Sahabi Bojo-Bodinga, one of the prominent elders in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State, had defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Bojo-Bodinga was received by the APC leader in the State, Senator Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North), at his residence in Sokoto on Friday.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Sokoto on Saturday by the Special Adviser, New Media to Wamakko, Bashar Abubakar.
Abubakar explained that the event was witnessed by the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, the APC governorship candidate in the state, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu, and many other prominent APC loyalists.
He quoted Alhaji Isa Sadiq-Achida, the State APC Chairman, while speaking on behalf of the party as assuring the new member and his supporters of equal treatment with all other members.
He said, “I’m truly confident that the defection of Bojo-Bodinga, is a good omen for the APC and an indication of the party’s victory at all levels.”
On his part, Bojo-Bodinga, a PDP stalwart from Sokoto South Senatorial District, disclosed that he and his teeming supporters across the state had left the PDP for APC for good.
