The Chief Executive Officer of Leksokky Hotel and Suites, Brigadier General Abayomi (retd.) Shokeye has urged Nigerians  to stop destroying government properties and shun act of violence that may later affect people in the society.

He said this in a peace Building and Conflict Resolution Seminar at the palace of Oba Onijoko of Ijoko on Saturday.

According to him, “As we are approaching election to change our government, I just appeal Nigerians especially youths to avoid destroying government property, going on attacks, is not necessary because the big men have a way of getting their cash.

“It is the masses that go to the ATM gallery and if you destroy those things now you are going to have more issue because you won’t be able to get access to the cash because you are already destroying the banks.”

Also, while speaking at the event themed, “ Peaceful Co- existence Before, During and After Elections,” he also donated eight fans to Oba Onijoko of Ijoko as part of his communal support.

He reiterated that the seminar was one of its kind because it demonstrated how peace could be restored in the community.

He said, “There is always election conflict and that always results into trouble in environment.

“I gained this environment in 1993, and then I think that in 20 years since then we have had a lot of problems coming up even before election. Ijoko is notorious for trouble, but these days, I think we are enjoying peace.”
