2023: Collect your PVCs, vote PDP, others have nothing to offer — Ortom urges Benue people

By Titus Atondu, Makurdi

As the Benue State chapter of the Peoples  Democratic Party (PDP) kick start its campaign rallies across the 23 local government area of the state, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has called on Benue people to ensure collection of their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to enable them vote massively for the PDP in the forthcoming general elections.

Ortom made the call on Thursday while addressing the mammoth crowd at Ugba, the headquarters of Logo local government area of the State during the party’s rally.

“If you fail to collect your PVCs, you will disenfranchise yourselves, thereby not voting for our dear party which is also your party.

“I encourage you to vote en masse for all the PDP candidates and you should not allow yourselves to be deceived by candidates of other political parties because they do not have anything to offer,” Ortom said.

Earlier, the PDP governorship candidate in Benue, Mr Titus Uba, appreciated the people for praying for his quick recovery, stressing that God healed him because of their prayers.

Uba said that Senator Gabriel Suswam had brought much Democratic dividends  for the people of the Benue North East Senatorial District which he said was speaking volume in favour of PDP, so, there was no need to worry about the outcome of the forthcoming elections.

“I am confident that all the PDP candidates in the state will surely win their elections,” Uba said.

On his part, the Senator representing the Benue North East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Gabriel Suswam urged the people of the area to rally round Uba and other PDP candidates to ensure their victories in the forthcoming election.

He explained that Uba’s mother was their sister and they should stand with him because if he won they would benefit immensely.

He further advised them not to vote people that would start learning the workings of government on office and  stressed that Uba had the capacity and experience because he had held the position of Speaker of the state assembly for several years,  and would not have any hurdle in piloting the affairs of the State.

The Guest Speaker, Mr Demenongo Unom, admonished the people to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Fr Hyacinth Alia because he had never condemned the killings of Benue people by the Fulani herdsmen.

The Director-General (DG), Uba/Ngbede Campaign Organisation, Dr Cletus Tyokyaa, expressed optimism that Benue people would vote massively for all the PDP candidates.
