2023: APC approves G-MATS as support group for Tinubu/Shettima presidency
The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved Grassroots Movement for Asiwaju Tinubu and Shettima (G-MATS) as one of the political groups mobilising support for its presidential candidate ahead of 2023 elections.
In a letter dated June 17, 2022 and signed by the ruling party’s Head of Support Group/Mobilisation, Alhaji Salisu Yahaya Alfa, the APC said it has recognised G-MATS being led by Dr Umar Tanko Yakasai as one of the political support groups working round the clock for the achievement of Tinubu/Shettima presidency come 2023.
The party stated that in view of this approval, G-MATS must therefore continue to work in consonance with the ruling party guidelines and constitution while also staying committed to every concerted effort to ensure the success of Tinubu/Shettima presidential aspiration during next year election.
