Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in his speech stated that the reason for the auspicious event is to rescue Nigeria.

“The main reason why we are gathered  here today is to rescue Nigeria. This is the most important reason for today’s event.

“Our task today is to rescue Nigeria. It is a task that history beckons upon us to execute. To do this, we must be united to win all elections slated for 2023.”

He went further to deplore the parlous state of the Nigeria economy.

“This current government has lost the essence of governance. Our nation is in disarray. Education is in comatose, with twenty million out of school children, just to mention but a few,” he declared.

“All hope is not lost. My covenant with Nigerians is to ensure equity, fairness, safety and the prosperity of Nigerians.
