2023: ADP remains credible alternative for good leadership — Fingesi

… Says Rivers generates N57.3bn per annum yet 1.7m youths are unemployed

As countdown to 2023 general elections gradually begins, the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Rivers State, Mr Victor Fingesi, said the only credible alternative to usher in good leadership and governance in the State remains his political party.

He said it does not take much, other than good leadership to create wealth and eradicate poverty, which ADP is ready to provide if voted into power in 2023.

Fingesi stated this recently in Port Harcourt in his speech shortly after he was unveiled to the public as the Standard Flag Bearer of the party in Rivers State for the 2023 general elections.

He lamented that a State has about N57.3bn annual revenue and yet has unemployment rate of over 1.7m youths, which he said simply shows that the current leadership in the State is bereft of ideas to lead.

Fingesi said only agriculture alone can transform the State and make it self-sufficient.

“Rivers State has all it takes to be among the richest in the world. We have the best terrain for all forms of agricultural production. With over 250,000 hectares of fertile arable land and rich waterways. Rivers State can lead on agricultural revolution across local government areas, where we can grow our food and feed the rest of the world,” he said.

On job generation, the ADP governorship hopeful said his administration, if given the mandate will bring mentoring experts and skill trainers from functional economies to come and transfer skills to our people, with the aim of rebuilding the state economy.

The ADP governorship candidate also said that education will top the priorities of his administration. The idea, he said, is to turn the youths into globally competitive force, thereby harnessing their full potentials in rebuilding Rivers State.

Asked how ready ADP is to compete with other political heavyweights in the forthcoming general elections, saying that fear has been taken care of by the new Electoral Act, which makes rigging useless.

Fingesi pledged that the ADP incoming government shall run an all-inclusive administration, where every Rivers person will be a stakeholder.

“At the Action Democratic Party, we want to give Rivers people the opportunity to choose their leaders for themselves and we are willing by all means to rebuild a government where Rivers people are stakeholders, no one would be left behind, all hands must be on deck to reach our full potential and rebuild the Rivers State of our dreayycms,” he added.
