2023: 35-year-old businessman declares for Ogun governorship under NNPP

Mr Olujobi Fayoyin, a 35-year-old businessman, on Friday declared his intention to contest for the Ogun State Governorship seat in 2023 on the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP)
Speaking to newsmen after declaring his intention at a rally in Abeokuta on Friday, Fayoyin noted that it was high time the youths were accorded the opportunity to man the affairs of the state.
Fayoyin explained that the state needed total overhaul in its governmental affairs.
He stated that he had made up his mind to be part of those that would make a better change in the country, saying he had offered himself as an agent of change to bring about a new Nigeria and a new Ogun state.
The governorship aspirant stated that it was important to come together and tackle security issues that had made everyone in the state to panic about their lives, properties and their businesses.
“Deploying all security outfits in the state, both governmental and privates to be awaken and to support them with all resources Ogun state has gotten to make sure there is an end to all the menaces of security issues
“We must make sure all youths are gainfully employed and at least having something good to do per time.
” For example making sure those that are fit get engaged in sporting activities like football, basketball, lawn tennis, squash, Boxing, swimming, and lots more. Engaging all vocational training centers in the state to be more effective in what they do and to introduce more vocational study courses.
‘ Encouraging our youths by giving scholarships to further their studies abroad. Encouraging our youths to be more active in politics and also in decision making in the government.
“Building a New Nigeria by making sure all our market men and women are empowered in their trading activities and exposing them to more businesses where they can make more profits.
“Building a New Nigeria where private companies, industries will be given more pedigree in the state building and also helping them to be able to employ more youths to avoid them been jobless,” he said.
He noted that he would ensure the provision of latest infrastructural developments both in rural and urban areas.
He advised all the youths in the state to keep focusing, be optimistic and also believe that whatever they desire in their heart would come to pass when they remain focused.
He appreciated the state Chairman of the party, Olaposi Oginni, saying he had remained focused in the struggle and had never backed down or succumbed to any pressure.
In his speech, the State Chairman of NNPP, Mr Olaposi Oginni, noted that the state needed the its best hands to move forward.
He expressed displeasure at the way the state was being run by past and present government, saying that the state had been moving backward.
The NNPP chairman opined that the party had presented the best man for the job, noting the it would take over the state secretariat in 2023.
