By Ismail Azeez, Osogbo

The Osun Amirul-Hajj, Dr. Moruf Ishola, has reiterated that efforts had been geared up to ensure that the State makes a significant difference in this year’s Hajj exercise.

Ishola said the State Pilgrims Welfare Board has improved tremendously on its track records of ensuring a smooth and hitch-free Hajj exercise year-in-year-out as manifested in the pace of innovations injected to ease the pilgrimage this year.

This is even as the last batch of 164 intending pilgrims arrived Medinah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

Recall that the first batch of 413 intending pilgrims departed Nigeria for Saudi Arabia last Monday.

With this development, a total of 577 intending pilgrims from Osun are now in the holy land for this year’s Hajj exercise.

Speaking shortly after their arrival in the holy land, Dr. Ishola said the board has put in place all that is necessary to meet the needs of the intending pilgrims from the State.

He assured that the board is bent to beating the past track records in all ramifications as part of its avowed commitment to making the exercise memorable, remarkable and adventurous for the intending pilgrims.

Thanking Almighty Allah for journey mercies to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Administrative Secretary of the Board, Mr. Bolaji Sanni, disclosed that those on the first batch would depart Medinah for Mecca later today.

According to him, the intending pilgrims on the second batch are expected to depart Medinah for Mecca next week Monday.
