2022 Appropriation bill: Ojokoro Council boss hosts stakeholders ahead preparations

The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID) has called for inputs from people of the Council towards preparation of the 2022 appropriation bill.
The Council boss made this call at the Stakeholders’ Forum on Year 2022 Budget held at the Council’s secretariat on Tuesday, 7th December 2021.
Hon. Hammed Tijani emphasized how important it is for his administration to plan appropriately in line with the needs of the people within available resources of the Council, noting that people who are not present at the Stakeholders’ forum can also present their submission within the next few days.
While speaking on the performance of the Year 2021 budget and project executed, he further explained how Ojokoro Local Council Development has moved far above expectations in terms of developmental projects embarked upon by his administration.
He had also disclosed that many projects were completed in the last dispensation while several other roads have been constructed and completed in the last few months of his second term in office.
“We swung into action immediately our administration was inaugurated for a second term in office by our very dynamic and ever proactive ‘Mr. Governor,’ Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, to ensure timely completion of some projects and also embark on new ones,” said Hon. Tijani.
The Council helmsman further stated that projects initiated by his administration includes rehabilitation of Akibu Adeniji street; Nureni Yusuf phase 1,Bioyin street, reconstruction of Wilson Aghedo road at Kole junction in Abule-Egba, interlocking at Lekan Adewunmi street as well as the construction of drainage, culverts and road at Ijaoye street,” he continued.
“Our administration earlier on completed the construction of roads with laying of asphalt at Segun Akinyemi street, Sobo street, Olu Akinade street, Sodeinde street, Olubiyi Fayinto street, Mofolasayo Drive and Ogunmola Alara street, amongst other projects during our first term in office.”
While speaking on the performance of the year 2021 appropriation bill, he noted that the budget for the year performed brilliantly as several developmental programmes and projects were executed and also delivered to the good people of Ojokoro for usage.
“By and large, the performance of this year budget was brilliant enough, but we hope to improve on the performance in the 2022 budget. We strongly believe that your inputs at this stakeholders meeting will go a long way in helping our administration to achieve better results in 2022,” Hon. Hammed Tijani concluded.
HID Tijani in his closing remark called for continuous cooperation from the constituents in the areas of payment of government levies and dues, just as he advised them to make payments only into the Council’s designated accounts and not any individual.
Present at the event were the All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and members representatives of different organizations; Youths, Market men and women; the Council’s legislators; Management members of the council, and a host of several stakeholders in the LCDA.
