2020FY:  Jaiz Bank, Dangote Cement announce closed period

Jaiz Bank Plc and Dangote Cement Plc have announced closed period for financial statement ended December 31, 2020 result and accounts.

The Company secretary/legal adviser, Jaiz Bank  Mrs Rukayat Dahiru in a statement on Thursday to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), said, “Pursuant to the listing requirements of Part 2 (issuers’ Rules) of the NSE rule Book, notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Board of Directors of Jaiz Bank Plc has been scheduled to hold on Tuesday March 9, 2021 at 11:00am.

“The meeting will consider the bank’s audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2020, amongst other businesses.

“In the light of the above, the bank hereby announces the commencement of a closed period from Thursday, February 19, 2021 until 24 hours after the Audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2020 is released to the public.

“During this period, all those who receive the notice of closed period, who are considered “insider” in Jaiz bank under the provision of the Companies and Allied Matters Act Cap. C20,LFN 2004 (CAMA), the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) are under restriction not to trade or deal in the equity of the bank.”

Also, the Deputy Company Secretary, Dangote cement, Edward Imoedemhe in a statement said, “ This is to inform the Nigerian Stock Exchange, shareholders of Dangote Cement and the investing public that further to the announcement made on February 1, 2021, the meeting of the board of Directors of Dangote Cement earlier scheduled to hold on Thursday, February 25, 2021 to consider the recommendation of dividend and the audited financial statements of the company for the year ended December 31, 202, has been postponed to March 18, 2021.

“This is due to the impact of the second wave of the COVID-19  pandemic.

“The closed period which commenced on February 10, 2021 will continue until 24 hours after the audited financial statements of the Company for the year ended December 31, 2020 is released to the public.

“The closed period applies to all parties that may at any time possess sensitive information that may materially affect the price of the securities of the Company.

“Accordingly, no insider may deal in the securities of the company during the closed period.”
