In a bid to enhance quality health service delivery across the country, the House Committee on Health Matter of the 9th Assembly paid an oversight visit to Federal Medical Centre, Abuja to inspect the level of execution on the 2020 capital projects implementation.
The capital projects includes purchase and installation of endoscopy and dialysis machine, computerization, administrative block project and solar power among others.
The Committee Chairman, Hon. Pascal Chidozie Obi said they are here to inspect the level of 2020 budget execution on capital projects.
The Chairman stressed that they also want to know the challenges faced by the Center so they can be able to stand in the gap for necessary interventions. Because according to them, it’s their duty to make sure government funds organizations adequately.
The committee applauded the efforts of the Medical Director for ensuring rapid development happening at the center bearing the fact that he’s barely one year in the office following appointment by the federal government nevertheless he has achieved a lot beyond expectation in a short while.
The Chief Medical Director of the Centre, Prof. Ahmed Saad who received the Committee members disclosed that they are putting effort at the management level to ensure efficient services to the people.
He applauded the committee for the gesture thereby ensuring that the hospital will continue to prioritize health service delivery to Nigerians.
Other members of the committee include Hon. Dr Mathew Somuke, Hon. Capt Ajawo Jacob and Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji.
The highlights of the event was the presentation of report by the CMD to the committee.
