2 pilots killed in France as military jets crash mid-flight

Two French pilots tragically lost their lives when their military jets collided mid-air in eastern France, according to a statement from the Air Force posted on X.

The incident involved two Rafale fighter jets that were returning from a mission in Germany. The collision occurred near Colombey-les-Belles, close to the city of Nancy.

A third pilot, who ejected from his aircraft, was found quickly and reported to be unharmed, the statement confirmed.

French President Emmanuel Macron has extended his condolences to the families of the deceased pilots.
