2 men in court for allegedly stealing  motorcycle

Two men, Adejo Emmanuel, 24, and Peter Temidayo,26, were on Wednesday, arraigned in  an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.

The defendants, of unknown addresses, are facing a charge of stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants committeed the offence on Aug. 25 at about 11:00 p.m in Ado-Ekiti.

He alleged that the defendants stole  motorcycle valued at N1.2 million belonging to  Suleiman Sunday.

Oriyomi said that the offence contravened Section 302(2) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him study the file and assemble his witnesses.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.

Counsel to the defendants, Mrs Adunni Olanipekun, urged the court to grant them bail, with a promise that they would not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

He adjourned the case until Oct.22, for hearing.
