2 men docked for allegedly stealing vehicle parts

Two men were on Friday docked in a Chief Magistrates Court in Badagry, Lagos for allegedly stealing an exhaust pot from a Toyota Highlander worth N350,000.

The police charged Imeh Joy, 22; and Adeleke Sunday, 30; with theft and breach of peace. They pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Clément Okuoimose, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Sept.8, at about 5 p.m in Abule-Ado area of Lagos.

Okuoimose said the defendants allegedly dismantled and stole the exhaust pot from a Toyota Highlander with Registration number KJA 480 CP property of Chief Ezeh Robinson, the complainant.

He said that the defendants also conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by dismantling and stolen the exhaust pot.

The offence, he said, contravenes the provisions of sections 287 and 168 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” he said.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Fadahunsi Adefioye, admitted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 each with two sureties in like sum.

Adefioye adjourned the case until Oct.11, for mention.
