2 killed, 3 injured in Israeli airstrike on southern Lebanon
On Monday, an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to three others. The strike targeted a civilian car and a motorcycle, according to military sources. Lebanese officials reported that an Israeli drone fired two air-to-ground missiles at a car traveling on the main road between the villages of Mays al-Jabal and Chaqra, leading to two injuries, one of which was fatal.
In a separate incident, an Israeli drone launched three missiles at a motorcycle near the Dubieh Fortress on the same road, killing one person and injuring two others, including a child.
In addition, Israeli drones carried out multiple airstrikes on five towns and villages in the southern Lebanon border area on Monday morning, while Israeli artillery shelled nine towns and villages with approximately 35 shells.
The escalation began on October 8, 2023, when Hezbollah launched rockets into Israel in support of Hamas’ attack. In response, Israel fired heavy artillery at southeastern Lebanon.
