It has been reliably gathered that no fewer than two persons (male and female) lost their lives in a motor accident on Thursday, at about 06:00hrs, involving a grey colour Toyota Bus, with registration number MGM 435 XA conveying passengers to Maiduguri, Borno State, along Kiyawa -Jahun Road.

The incident occurred around Katika village when the driver lost control of the vehicle as a result of over speeding, thereby colliding with a tree by the roadside.

The accident victims were immediately evacuated and rushed to a Primary Health Center (PHC), in Kiyawa Local Government Area.

Sadly, two of the passengers were certified dead, while others including the bus driver sustained various degrees of injuries. The victims were later referred to Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Azare, in Bauchi State.

The names of the deceased were given as Moh’d Atiku, male aged 27 and Cecilia Peter, female, aged 21.

Saddened by the incident, the Police Command enjoined motoring public to always drive with caution, avoiding over speeding and other road traffic violations.

The Public Relations Officer of Civil Defense Corps, Adamu Shehu, has confirmed the story.
