1725 cases handled in 2021 — Ondo NSCDC boss

The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has disclosed that about 1725 cases altogether were handled in the just concluded year 2021 by the command.
The NSCDC boss, Dr. Hammed Abodunrin, who disclosed this on Friday while speaking with journalists in Akure, however, said 124 suspects were arrested by the Command’s Intelligence and Investigation Department over allegedly bunkering.
According to him, some of the cases include illegal dealing in petroleum products (19), malicious damage of farmlands (17), illegal mining activities (10), illegal operations of Private Guard Companies (2) stolen prepaid meters (8).
Abodunrin posited that other cases are robbery (12), missing child (11), sexual assault/rape (27), child trafficking (5) and job racketeering (3), while 20 of the cases are still pending in the court.
Items recovered by the command include, 284,540 litres of petroleum products, while 9 trucks were impounded alongside with 4 wooden boats from the Coastal area of the state.
Abodunrin, however, said the command was ready to double its efforts in discharging their duties professionally and seek for more robust relationship and partnership from the good people of Ondo state.
