17 years after, Abiodun installs new Onitele

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has installed Oba Ademola Eletu as the new Onitele of Itele-Ota, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, 17 years after the stool has been vacant.

Governor Abiodun, at the formal installation and presentation of Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office to the new Monarch in Itele town, said the selection process, which brought about the appointment of Oba Eletu conformed with relevant sections of the Obas’ and Chiefs Law, Laws of Ogun State, 2021 and was in accordance with the custom and traditions of Itele people.

The Governor, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun said traditional rulers were always at the forefront of political, economic and social development in their different purview, enjoining the new Monarch to constantly champion efforts that would bring rapid development which the community had missed in the last 17 years.

He enjoined the people of Itele-Ota to give Oba Eletu the necessary support required to move the community forward, adding that all hands must be on deck to pave way for speedy development of the area.

In his remarks, the Olota of Ota, Oba Abdulkabir Obalanlege assured that the installation of the new king would bring drastic development to the people of Itele and its environs.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Eletu appreciated Governor Abiodun for heeding the call of his people and appointing him as the new Onitele, promising his commitment to take the kingdom to an enviable height.
