Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara has approved the immediate construction of a motorised borehole in Shuta Community, Asa Local Government Area of the state.
This was contained in a statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday by Mr Olalekan Onilu, the Press Secretary in the Ministry of Water Resources.
The statement said the Director of Hydrology in the ministry, Alhaji Suleiman Alada, had on Wednesday led a team of engineers from the ministry to Shuta where the governor’s gesture was lauded as a welcome development.
Alada, who described the approval of the governor as timely given that the Ramadan was imminent, assured Shuta community that the project would be completed in 10 days.
“In ten days time, the project will be completed as Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq wants the best for his people.
“Our governor is making life worthy of living for the people of Kwara,” the statement quoted him as saying.
The Magaji of Shuta, Mallam Abubakar Al-Sidiq, while commending the governor for coming to their aid, said the community had been deprived of potable water for a long time.
“We thank the people’s governor for the gesture. We are happy because water is life.
“May Almighty Allah grant you more wisdom to continue to pilot the affairs of Kwara,” the statement quoted Al-Sidiq as saying.
