152 terrorist killed 109 arrested over 1 week period – DHQ

On Friday, the Defence Headquarters reported that over the past week, military forces killed 152 terrorists and apprehended 109 suspects.

The military high command also announced the destruction of the key strongholds of two infamous terrorist leaders: the Sadiku enclave located in Tsora Hill, Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State, and the Yusuf Enclave in Yadi Forest, Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Edward Buba, the Director of Media Operations, highlighted these achievements as evidence of the military’s steady progress toward eliminating criminal elements. He stated, “The battle against terrorists, insurgents, and violent extremists continues vigorously, with troops maintaining their momentum to secure victory. The armed forces are making significant strides toward the complete eradication of these threats.”

Buba emphasized that the military is continuously learning and adapting to better counter the threats posed by these terror groups. Troops are actively working to restrict the terrorists’ movements and capabilities.

Throughout the week, targeted operations led to the neutralization of 152 terrorists, the arrest of 109 individuals, and the rescue of 91 hostages. Additionally, efforts against crude oil theft resulted in the recovery of products valued at approximately N795 million.

Buba elaborated, “In the South-South region, troops thwarted oil theft amounting to about N795,683,395.00. They disrupted crude oil theft operations through air interdiction in locations such as Bugama, Idama, Cawtorne Channel, and Krakrama in Rivers State. Moreover, two female terrorist collaborators, who were involved in negotiating ransoms for kidnapped victims, were apprehended.”

He concluded by urging the public to support the military’s efforts to combat insecurity in the country.
