130 illicit drug suspects arrested in Kaduna in October — NDLEA
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has seized 1,728.536kg of illicit drugs and arrested 130 suspects in Kaduna State.
This was disclosed on Wednesday by the state Commander of the agency in Kaduna, Umar Adoro.
According to Adoro, the agency also destroyed 20 notorious drug joints in the state.
He added that operatives of the agency also recovered N300,000 fake N1,000 notes for the suspects in custody.
Adoro further disclosed that the agency had also sealed seven properties linked to drug traffickers.
The Commander explained this that the illicit drugs included 1,388.811kg of Indian hemp, 0.019kg of Cocaine, 0.001kg of heroin, 7.666kg of Tramadol, 331.786kg of other psychotropic substances and 0.253kg of Methamphetamine.
He added that the agency has also engaged in sensitisation programmes across secondary schools in Kafanchan, Kaduna, Zaria, among other towns and cities.
While calling on parents and guardians to keep watch of their wards, he appealed to the public to assist the agency with useful information on illicit drug dealers.
