……University on the way, Bishop Awoleke

The Zion Mission Church of Christ, New York , United States of America has laid foundation of a world class Specialist hospital in Isoko, Ejigbo local government of Osun State over the weekend.
According to the General Overseer of the America based church, Bishop Paul Awoleke, the citing of the hospital in Isoko is a divine directive from God. He said the church had planned to establish the hospital in either India or Mexico before God told him to establish the 10,000 bed hospital in Isoko.
Recollecting his experience about the near zero health facility in the area, the Clergyman narrated how one of his entourage to the community had a deep cut last year but they could not get any standard hospital to treat the wound.
“The best hospital we were directed to was irritating. The entire place was filthy. It could not be described as hospital. It was an eyesore” he said
“It was there God revealed to me that this is where we should locate the hospital because it is needed to save lives” Awoleke said.
He said the hospital, though established by a church does not discriminate on the basis of religion and ethnicity.
“It is for everybody” he declared.
He also announced that plans are on the way to establish a group of schools from creche to University level which curriculum will be fashioned after Nigeria and America educational system.
In her speech, one of the Ministers in the church, Cheryl Miller, an American said she was surprised at the level of infrastructure decay in the country despite all the riches in the country.
An emotional Miller, who could not control her tears as she spoke wondered how people can survive hardship in the country. She expressed the willingly of Zion Mission Church of Christ to provide quality health care through the hospital.
The wife of the Bishop, Apostle Rejoice Awoleke urged the people of the area to cooperate with the church to make the dream a reality. She also enjoined them to see the project as theirs and not just for Awoleke or the church.
Another Ministers of the church, Dorothy Cox and Love Emmanuel expressed their confidence that the Hospital would be of immense benefit to the community and country at large.
High point of the occasion was the laying of the foundation of the church. The Eastern corner of the hospital was done by the representative of Olasoko of Isoko land, Prince Sule Oyedeji, the Western Corner was laid by Minister Dorothy Cox, the Northern corner by the mother of the Bishop, Elder (Mrs) Sarah Awoleke while the Southern corner was laid by Bishop Awoke.
There were goodwill messages from several bodies in including neighbouring communities, religious organizations, banks and representatives of the government.
In his speech, the Chief Imam of the community, Alhaji Jimoh Oyewole Alimi praised the church for the initiative, particularly the free medicare which was being done daily. He said he was a beneficiary as drugs given for his rising blood pressure cured his when he went for further check.
