Three suspects arrested in Ogun for matcheting to death septuagenarian, wife

Three suspects who were allegedly involved in the gruesome murder of

72 year old James Olaosebikan and his 68 year old wife, Esther Olaosebikan recently in Sagamu have been arrested by men of Ogun state command. The suspects are Ibrahim Uthman, Aba Abdulkareem and Abdulhamid Ibrahim

The assailants, according to statement from police spokesman in the state, DSP Abimbola were said to have dealt the cruel blow to the couple in their house along Klm 54 Lagos-Ibadan expressway Shagamu on 30th of last month

Joseph Olaosebikan, one of the children of the deceased couple was said to have reported the dastard act to Shagamu police station explaining that some criminal elements had through the ceiling gained access to the house and macheted his parents to death.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama was said to have given marching order to the DPO Shagamu Division,  SP Okiki Agunbiade to fish out the killers within the shortest possible time.

The DPO and his men were said to have embarked on technical and forensic investigation of the case and their efforts yielded positive result recently when three members of the deadly gang were apprehended.

The suspects, during interogation were said to have allegedly confessed to be robbery gang and that one of their members who is now at large invited them for the purpose of robbing the deceased as well as a nearby shop.

They however discovered that the couple could recognise one of them,  hence the alleged armed robbers’ decision to matchet them to death to cover their criminal acts.

Meanwhile,  the Commissioner of police, Bashir Makama has ordered  the homicide section of the State Criminal investigation and intelligence department to take over the case for proper investigation. He also directed that the fleeing member of the gang must be brought to book within the shortest possible time.
