Star Times, one of Nigeria’s pay TV companies, has unveiled its new channel, Isi Mbido which tops its channels to 440.
The TV channel said that new channel, Isi Mbido, is a new Igbo entertainment channel on its platform which sums the number of its authourized channels to 440.
Star Times is the leading digital-TV operator in Africa which covers about 80 per cent of the continent’s population with a massive distribution network of 200 brand halls, 3,000 convenience stores and 5,000 distributors.
According to the TV company, the introduction of ISI Mbido is intended to bring premium entertainment in indigenous Nigerian languages to its valued subscribers.
The new package is said to include entertainment programmes such as movies, music, studio shows and many more.
Isi Mbido, the company revealed, will contain featured content platform consisting of news, movies, series, sports, entertainment, children’s programs, fashion, religion, among others.
Speaking on the new channel, Acting Brands and Marketing Director, Star Times, Mr. Qasim Elegbede, said all Star Times subscribers, new and dormant, are qualified to watch this first of its kind channel for free throughout this month.
He added that the new channel will go a long way to deepen consumer interests, not only in Star Times, but with Nigerian local and indigenous languages as it is poised to bring exciting and consumer engaging programmes.
