Rivers State House of Assembly have threatened that it would stop at nothing in asking for the arrest of the managing director of Halliburton Energy Services, Henry Oki, if he again derides the invitation of the house.

Recall that the house at one of its sittings summoned the MD to come and explain why the company allegedly discriminates against Rivers State people working in the company.

But the MD refused to show up.

Rather, he delegated one of his subordinates Ferdinand Abara.

Speaker of the House, Ikuinyi Owaji Ibani, described this as an affront to the legislature.

He immediately ordered the sergeant-at-arm to take the microphone from Abara and called on the majority leader , Martin Amaewhule to move a motion to send them (Abara and his team) out of the chambers.

“Tell that managing director that we are representatives of the people of Rivers State, that managing director must appear on the floor of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

“Tell him that he must appear on the floor of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

“We will not take it at all from any multinational or even if it is a national company, we won’t take it at all”, Ibani said, vowing that Halliburton would be used as a test case.
