Police arrest 4 armed robbery suspects

About four suspected armed-robbers were arrested by Ogun State Police Command at Oke-ira Ilashe area of Agbara in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government area in Ogun State.

The suspects were arrested following their attack on a block making industry located in the area in which they dispossessed one Akeem Lateef of N300,000.

The suspects were armed with guns, axes and other offensive weapons stormed the block industry at about 1.45 pm, shooting sporadically and brandishing other dangerous weapons which they used to threaten their victim before snatching the money from him.

The resident of the area scampered for safety before making a covertly distress call to Agbara Division, consequent upon which the DPO, CSP Yemi Oyeniyi led team of anti-robbery to the scene and engaged the robbery in gun battle.

After the shootout, four of the hoodlums namely; Muse Ibrahm, 23years;  Alashe Olaleye, 23years; Efe Ejoh, 26years and Olamilekan Adebayo were arrested while others escaped into the nearby bush with their guns and snatched money.

Recovered from them are: axe, one bag containing knife and three caps as well as wraps of weed suspected to be Indian hemp.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu  has ordered a serious manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang. He equally directed that the suspects be transferred to FSARS for discreet investigation.

However, Ogun State Police Command over the weekend arrested one Prosper Kerry ‘m’ a.k.a. PMAN for robbery.

The suspect who came to Tulamania hotel in Odo-nla area of Ogijo on a motorcycle with two others on which they attacked those who lodged in the hotel and dispossessed them of their properties at gun point.

While the operation was going on, distress call was sent to the Police in Ogijo and the DPO SP Muhammed Tijani personally led his anti-robbery men to the scene and engaged the hoodlums in gun battle.

At the end of the operation, two of the suspects escaped while Prosper Kerry ‘m’ was arrested. Recovered from him are one locally made gun and three live cartridges.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to FSARS for discreet investigation.

He added that the escaped members of the gang must be hunted for and brought to book.
