Osinbajo wife enjoins Benue women to always pray for girl child against social vices

The Wife of the  Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria  Mrs Dolapo Osibanjo on Saturday called on Benue women to always pray for the girl child against societal ills in Nigeria.

Mrs Osibanjo made the call when she participated in the 49th Benue Women in Prayer (BEWIP) prayer Convocation held at the Chapel of Grace, Government House, Makurdi.

She also charged the women to take the act of motherhood seriously to mitigate the growing cases of indecent dressing, drug  abuse and other social ills in the country.

She advised women to be prayerful and take all their worries to the Lord for answers.

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom in his remarks during the prayer convocation commended the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osibanjo for been their for the State during their sorrowful moments.

Ortom further disclosed that over 60 security personnel lost their lives while ensuring that there was peace in the State  during the herders crisis.

He added that those who lost their lives during the crisis comprises of  the Army ,  Police and Civil defense respectively.

He commended the security agencies for the sacrifices rendered in the cost of providing peace and unity in Benue.

Earlier, Mrs Eunice Ortom said Benue Women in Prayer (BEWIP) prayer convocation started on the 15th October, 2019 adding that the prayer session has helped many youths.

She added that the programme has also helped many youths among them to improve on their music and have lunched serval musical albums and other skill acquisitions.

On  the interactive session with Benue youty at the New Banquet Hall of Benue Peoples House Government House Makurdi, Mrs Osibanjo said that apart from most internet users living on borrowed robs to impress their fans they were living illusionary life that does not exist in real life.

She said that  Nigeria Child needed to be priceless, top class and shouldn’t be seen as a cheap product that can be purchased with as little as recharge card.

Mrs Osibanjo further appealed to the youth using internet to be cautious of their activities on the nets as responsible companies at the moment investigate applicants records including those on internet before hiring.

She played two videos that discouraged violence against women and drug  abuse during her interaction with them.

Earlier,  Mrs Eunice Ortom regretted that rape and child abuse were on the increase adding that society was guilty of all societal ills ongoing in the country.

Mrs Ortom said that government was aware of the numerous challenges facing the youths and pledged to priorities their needs.

She appealed to them to shown substance abuse, hard drugs, rape, child abuse among others.

Nigerian NewsDirect  reports that Mrs Osibanjo had earlier commissioned Mama Abayol Orphanage Home and Benue State Centre for Enterprise Development and Innovation (BENCEDI).
