The two-time Senator from Osun East Senatorial District under the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Iyiola Omisore has bid the party farewell, Nigerian NewsDirect report.
Senator Omisore was reported to have dropped the membership of the party due to the extended crisis with the leadership of the party and hitches ensuing in the party in tandem with the preparation for governorship election in Osun state.
The suporters of the senator had burnt the flag of PDP in allegiance and loyalty to the call of their leader as a form of protest.
No official declaration has been made by the Omisore faction on the new party he would be contesting for in the forthcoming elections but a source has it that he is reportedly heading for Accord Party.
The newly elected PDP chairman in the state Hon Soji Adagunodo labeled the action of Senator Omisore as “hasty” and not needed.
The two-time former Senator was reported to be at loggerheads with the new party Executives, together with his loyalists ignored the last congress of the party in protest over what he termed illegal activities by the party at the state level.
The former deputy governor was the PDP flag bearer in the 2014 Governorship Election in the state which of he lost to Incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
