The Ogun State APC gubernatorial candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said that Ogun state will serve as the food basket for Lagos state within his first term if he is elected.
Abiodun made this known in an address when he paid homage to the league of Imams and Alfas in Ogun state. The league is a conglomerate of Muslim leaders and scholars in the state.
He said “Ogun state is blessed with enough land mass for agricultural farming and the farm produce will mostly be sold to the neighboring states (Lagos state) which is the commercial capital of Nigeria and does not have enough land mass for agricultural farming.”
“My background in entrepreneur has given me a lot of insights into what can be possibly done in the agricultural sector, education sector, health sector, among others”
However, Abiodun has promised that his government will appoint a special adviser on religous matters if elected.
He said the Special adviser will oversee every religion matters in the state to foster harmony and peaceful co-existence among the religion worshippers.
The meeting was well attended by the chief Imams of Ijebu, Remo, Yewa, Ota and Egba and other notable Islamic scholars across the state.
