Ogun police arrest two for armed robbery

Ogun State police command has arrested duo of Ayomide Joseph aged 19 and 20 years old Olajide Ajisomo for robbing one Adegoke Sodipe and his brother at gun point.

Ayomide and Olajide were said to have attacked their victims at Ikugbonmire Junction, Mowe in Obafemi Owode local government area of the state dispossessing the two brothers of their personal belongings including an Infinix phone valued at N25,000, UBA ATM card among others.

The two armed robbery suspects, according to statement from the Spokesman of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, were arrested following a report of the robbery attack lodged at Mowe police station by Adegoke Sodipe .

Adegoke was quoted to have alleged that he and his brother were attacked by three armed robbers while coming from Lagos and that after raising alarm, some passerby assisted to pin down one of the robbers while others escaped.

The statement explained further that upon the report, the DPO Mowe Division, SP Marvis Jayeola quickly dispatched his detectives to the scene where the arrested member of the gang was handed over to the police.

The police however launched manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang and through intelligent based investigation, the second suspect was arrested while a locally made double barrel shot gun was recovered from them.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered that the suspects be transferred to Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) for discreet investigation.

Ebrimson equally reiterated the readiness of the state police command to clamp down on any criminal within the State as the command will not allow any hoodlum to subject the good people of the state to any form of mental and psychological torture during and after this trying period.
