Ogun State Police Command has arrested the trio of 23 years old Adebayo Oluwatosin, Obinna Abiogbe aged 27 and Segun Adefunmi in Sango, Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state for allegedly hacking into the bank account of one Kolawole Sobande and siphoned the sum of  N300,000 in his account.

The arrest of the three suspects followed a complaint received from a P.O.S operator who alerted the police that one of the suspects approached him and instructed him to transfer the sum of #100,000 from an account to his own (POS operator’s) account and then handover the money to him.

The POS operator however alleged that when he demanded for the identity card of the suspect that wanted to make the withdrawal, he discovered that it bore different name to the one on the bank account.

Acting on this information, the DPO Sango Division, Csp Godwin Idehia, according to statement from the Spokesman of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, detailed his detectives to the scene where the suspects were arrested. The account owner was contacted and he confirmed that the sum of N300,000 has been removed from his account.

On interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to being internet fraudsters who specialized in hacking into people’s bank account and siphoning their money.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered ordered a full scale investigation into the past activities of the suspects with the view to arraign them before a court of competence jurisdiction.
