Ogun gubernatorial aspirant promises 10,000 jobs in one year.

A graduate of Electrical Electronics and Information Communication Technology consultant, Engr. Oluwaseyi Olufade-Olowookere has promised to tackle headlong problem of unemployment creating at least 10,000 jobs within his first year in office if given the mandate to govern Ogun State in 2019.

 

Engr. Oluwaseyi Olufade-Olowookere made this pledge during a press conference held yesterday at Abeokuta to declare his intention to contest for the governorship seat of the state during next year elections under Alliance for Democracy, AD.

 

He added that as important demographic factor forming over 70% of the country’s population, issues of youth and women empowerment through skills acquisition and training, small medium enterprises, microcredit support among other initiatives would be rigorously pursued by his government to create at least 10,000 jobs within his first year in office.

 

The 39 years old native of Iwoye, Yewa South local government added that he hoped to make remarkable improvement in the lives of the people of the state deploying his wealth of experience in technology and innovation to spread dividends of democracy across the 236 wards of the state.

 

He explained further that his government would be guided by attainment of sustainable development goals such as poverty eradication, zero hunger, good health and well being, quality education, industry innovation and infrastructural development among others.

 

The ICT and real estate expert disclosed that he would also not joke with the welfare of the work force and pensioners saying that ” as someone from humble background with retired civil servants as parent, I am aware of the trouble they are usually subject to in terms of irregular pensions and inability to have their gratuities on time. This is really bad because these are people who had served the country in their prime and should therefore not be made to suffer in their old age”.

 

“It is part of the deliberate policy of my government to make them happy and ensure that those in service also get their salaries and other benefits as and when due. We have gotten it all figure out and it is just a matter priority and prudent management of vast resources our dear state is endowed with”.

 

Engr. Olufade-Olowookere was also full of praises for former President Olusegun Obasanjo for throwing his weight behind the agitation of Ogun West to produce the next governor of the state since its creation 42 years ago calling on other divisions of the state to help make this life long dream ambition to be a reality in 2019.
