Ogun State Commissioner of police, Ahmed Iliyasu has beckoned on members of public not to withhold any support that could continually help police to efficiently perform their constitutional duty of ensuring security of all.
Ahmed Iliyasu has also lauded Alhaji Ibrahim Olaniyonu led Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Ogun State, disclosing that several interventions and support of the organisation has helped a lot to ease the onerous task of keeping the state safe.
The Commissioner of police made this disclosure during presentation of Toyata Prado Jeep donated by PCRC, Ogijo to Ogijo divisional police office of the state command.
Iliyasu explained that ”our partnership with PCRC Ogun state has helped our command a lot in running people with criminal tendencies out of the state. Ogun state is now investment destination of choice for even foreign investors because it is safe and very peaceful for all, we all can sleep with our two eyes closed. I sincerely hope other well meaning Nigerians will be more willing to give logistics support such as provision of patrol vehicles, building of new stations or refurbishing of existing ones among several other things that can make police to be more efficient and productive”.
While thanking PCRC, Ogijo unit for extending its hands of love to the police, CP Iliyasu vowed that the police command in the year 2019 remained committed to stepping up its game to deal decisively with any act capable of obstructing peaceful conduct of general elections slated for February and March.
The CP said “as the general elections draw closer, it is imperative to affirm that we shall remain apolitical, unbiased and ensure the interest of everyone is protected. I must however add that, we shall not tolerate thuggery, hooliganism or violence from anybody. All stakeholders, especially our politicians should call their supporters to order as police will not condone any act that can disrupt peaceful conduct of 2019 elections”.
Ogun State Chairman of PCRC, Alhaji Ibrahim Olaniyonu while thanking the police command for working round the clock to keep away criminals from the state pledged that the association would remain a dependable ally to the efforts of the police in protecting residents of the state.
