nPDP, rAPC in merger talks with SDP

…as Kawonise declares for Ogun governorship race

Bankole Taiwo, Abeokuta.

Assistant National Secretary of Social Democratic Party, SDP, Hon Adeleke Mabinuori has penultimate Friday given an indication that nPDP and rAPC, the two breakaway factions of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC  were in merger talks with SDP and that a press conference announcing the details would hold sometimes later this week.

Hon Mabinuori Adeleke gave this hint at the party secretariat, GRA Ibara, Abeokuta during formal governorship declaration of Mr Sina Kawonise for Ogun State in 2019.

Hon Mabinuori Adeleke said ” if you may know, there is nothing to be reformed in PDP and APC, in fact, our National Vice-Chairman, Mr Supo Sonibare who had been at Abuja for about a week just informed me that the two breakaway factions of APC have been in talk with our party and sometimes, later this week there will be a press conference to shed more light on this”.

Meanwhile, the former Commissioner for information under PDP led Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s administration in the state, Mr Sina Kawonise  has condemned his former party, PDP and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC for being architect of money bag politics insisting that except Nigerians change their way of running after politicians with deep pockets, the search for a desirable Nigeria might last eternity.

The former lecturer with Sociology department of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye and 2015 Labour Party governorship candidate stated this while announcing his desire to once again take a shot at the highest seat of power in Ogun state.

He explained that unlike APC and PDP where it is people with deep pockets that have their way in the parties even if they did not have what it takes to give good governance, SDP has a foundation built on integrity, inclusiveness and its ultimate desire is progress for all Nigerians.

He added that if given the mandate, his approach to governance as it is done in developed countries would be bottom-top approach where it was the people that will point out their area of needs and not as it is now where the government of the day is busy constructing bridges and projects that bears no bearing to the need of the people such as the ongoing Ijebu Igbo bridge.

He promised to use his ambition to tackle poverty, unemployment as well as all indices of bad governance under the APC led administration in the state such as the deplorable condition of all link roads across the state.

Mr Kunle Majekodunmi, State Chairman of the party, in his earlier

address described SDP as a party with all the prerequisite structures and visionary men and women who have all it takes to turn around the fortunes of the state charging people to come on board the party.
