To demonstrate its commitment towards achieving sustainable and healthy workforce, the management of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has embarked on a programme for the vaccination of its employees against Meningitis.
Hadiza Bala Usman, Managing Director, NPA, who flagged off the exercise recently at the Authority’s corporate headquarters, asserted that a healthy workforce was not only an asset to the Authority but its prime strength that propels the economic viability of the Authority.
The Managing Director who was represented by Mohammed Bello Koko, the Executive Director Finance and Administration, lauded the medical services division for their efforts in ensuring a healthy workforce.
She advised that such efforts should be extended to all categories of employees.
In a welcome address, the General Manager Medical Services, Dr. Chinwe Abama, noted that the meningitis scourge and epidemic had assumed alarming proportions in the past, stressing that Government was desirous of curbing the menace through a variety of responses comprising of reactive mass vaccination.
