One of the gover-norship aspirants on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of election in Kogi State, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin on Monday warned governor Yahaya Bello to stop deceiving residents of the State.

Jibrin, who addressed journalists immediately after he obtained his nomination and expression of interest forms at the party’s National secretariat in Abuja faulted the governor’s move on the age-long verification exercise being done for workers in the state.

“It is hightime Governor Yahaya Bello stopped deceiving Kogites. Our people should be rescued before all of them turned to beggers,” he said.

The retired Naval officer also expressed optimism that he would get the ticket of APC, dismissing the insinuations that he’s ready to dump the party if he loses the ticket of the party.

He added that the poverty rate under the government of governor Yahaya Bello is on the increase and requires an experienced person to reposition the state, emphasizing that it is only in Kogi State a Permanent Secretary ride on Okada to office.

According to him, “Civil servants in the state have continuously been undergoing verification without payment of salaries leading to a Permanent Secretary in the state riding Okada to work daily”.

Jubrin further described the four-by-four sign of governor Yahaya Bello as a “gangsterism”, stressing the urgency for a governor with vision who has the experience to put Kogi on the part of growth and development.

He said, “I intend to build a state on the principle of justice. At the moment, Kogi needs a governor with vision who has the experience and is in tune with the reality of the moment and redesign the structure of tomorrow and also embrace inclusiness at all level”.

He, however, called on the leadership of APC not to allow Yahaya Bello to decieve them into blackmailing them to do his bidding, adding that the process of direct primary should be the new standard for the party and Kogi state should not be different.

He added, “Let me use this opportunity to clear the air on the rumours coming from the state government. I will remain in APC until I achieve my governorship ambition.

Jibril was presented with the party nomination and expression of interest forms by the National Organising Secretary, Emma Ibediro after paying the mandatory N22.5 million.
