NIPOST: New workers harp on training, welfare

The newly recruited staff of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) on Wednesday in Ibadan urged the management of the agency to prioritise their training and welfare in order to bring out the best in them.

They made this appeal during a facility tour of the agency zonal office by the board members led by the Chairman, Maimuna Abubakar.

NIPOST recently recruited new workers as part of effort to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.


The workers said that in order for the postal serviceto take advantage of emerging business trends in the industry, it needs to take the training of the new members of staff as a priority.


They also urged the agency to put in place necessary good welfare packages as a motivation.


In her response, Abubakar said that there was on going reformation and restructuring within the organisation to address problems raised by the staff.


According to her, the agency is set to raise its international competitiveness by making it a commercially appealing organisation.
