Nigerians should be patient with Buhari — Hon. Okeyomi

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and also the chairmanship aspirant of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. Oladipupo Okeyomi, aka, Carry Go, has urged Nigerians to be patient with the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration in his effort to turn around the country. According to him, “What the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration had spent 16 years to destroy cannot be fixed in a year and even two years.

The Ojokoro Local Council Development Authority (LCDA) hopeful stated this during an interactive session with Nigerian NewsDirect recently. President Buhari has promised that he would do his best to place Nigeria well on the way to becoming a pride to all Nigerians. What APC programme is after is good governance and hope. “APC as a party has the welfare and wellbeing of the masses at heart, very soon, we shall also start to witness the fulfillment of the President’s promise, our programmes, policies, activities are directed at meeting the needs of the people, satisfying them, mobilizing the people to accept our programmes and policies and for people to believe in us as a party that is committed to their progress, welfare, peace and prosperity. Our people-oriented programmes will be used to get them to adopt us as their representative at Federal, state and local levels.

Hon. Okeyomi spoke on the heels of the foiled military coup in Turkey and recent festering rumour of some mutinous plot in the Nigerian military, the security consultant noted, saying “the Nigerian case is peculiar in the sense that a long spell of military rule has given us much setback and now, Nigerians are ready to march on the streets and lay down their lives to protect this democracy.”

The Ojokoro LCDA hopeful also spoke on the raging rift between Senators Oluremi Tinubu and Dino Melaye, Okeyomi described the utterances and subsequent behaviour of Melaye as shameful and unimaginable, stressing that it was least expected of a senator of the Federal Republic to use such gutter language as Melaye did.” Okeyemi also took exception in the recent visit of Melaye to Bourdillon Road residence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos to do a video to show that he was untouchable, he advised that Melaye should visit Ojota, Oshodi, Ojuelegba, Mushin areas of Lagos and boast instead of Bourdillon, the people of Bourdillon are highly educated and well-to-do and would have mistaken him for a clown or nuisance. Hon. Okeyomi promised to provide jobs for 700 youths in his first 100 days in office and planned to represent the aspirations of the people of Ojokoro by giving our people the hope of realizing their desires and wants, ‘with God on our side. I will deliver my political programmes’. The God-fearing aspirant has been paying a monthly stipend to no fewer than 300 widows under his Change Agent Foundation of Ojokoro and he had been giving scholarship to students since 2006.  He recently distributed over 22 generators to churches and mosques, as well as organised various empowerment programmes for both youths and women where work tools like dryers, sewing machines were given out to artisans.
