The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) Ibadan Chapter has announced its new set of executive members to steer its affairs for the next constituted term.
This stand was taken at the retreat/ strategic session for the incoming executive members held in the serene environment of the Steinserve Campus in Ibadan.
In his welcome address, the immediate past chairman of NIEEE Ibadan Chapter, Engr. (Prof.) O.A. Fakolujo, said that the main purpose of the retreat was to acquaint the new EXCO members on strategies to synergize the academia and the industries for technological growth and sustainability through active collaboration of members.
According to him, the retreat was aimed at effectively informing and thoroughly equipping the new executive members on their various roles/ responsibilities and duties.
“The strategic session was to ensure effective management and running of NIEEE Ibadan Chapter activities and align such with NIEEE National.
“More so, it is to put in place an implementable Action Plan with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to align with Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)/ Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), National Group Dynamics Competition”, Fakolujo noted.
Key resource persons, knowledgeable and with in-depth understanding of the core activities of NSE/ NIEEE were invited for the Retreat/ Strategic Session for each of the technical sessions, and they spoke on a wide range of topics.
Among the facilitators at the programme were: Engr. Sam Adeleke, who delivered a technical paper entitled: “Strategies for Alternative Funding of Chapter
Activities, Transparency and Accountability”, while a technical paper was delivered by Engr. (Prof.) O.A. Fakolujo,, entitled: “Strategies for Synergy: Working with the Academia for Membership Drive and Growth Sustainability”.
In addition, other facilitators spoke on “Roles and Responsibilities of EXCO Members and an Overview of NIEEE Constitution”, which was delivered by Engr. E.O.J. Ojekunle, and “Strategies for Synergy: Working with the Industries for Membership Drive and Growth Sustainability” by Engr.Ademola Agoro, who was represented by Engr. Sam Adeleke.
The incoming chairman NIEEE Ibadan Chapter, Engr. Ajuyah, Silvanus delivered a technical paper on: “Group Dynamics and Team Building”
Dignitaries at the Retreat/ Strategic Sessions include the branch chairmen of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, Engr. Ademola Agoro, (NSE, Oluyole Branch) who was represented by Engr. Sam Adeleke, and Engr. Olutayo Ogundiran, (NSE, Oyo Branch).
The incoming EXCO members of the NIEEE Ibadan Chapter are: Engr. Ajuyah, Silvanus, (Chairman), Engr. Ogunpaimo, Babatude, (Vice Chairman), Engr. Gabriel Olaifa, (General Secretary), Engr. Abdullahi Aremu, (Assistant General Secretary), Engr. (Mrs) Toyin M. Abduganeey, (Financial Secretary), Engr. Oluseye Ajibade, (Treasurer), Engr. B.O. Tijani, (Membership Secretary), Engr. Abdulrasaq Jimoh, (Technical Secretary), Engr. (Mrs) Mary Ayeni, (Assistant Technical Secretary), Engr. Daniel O. Faloseyi, (Publicity Secretary), Engr. Kolawole Ajiboye, (EX- Officio), and Engr. (Prof.) O.A. Fakolujo, (Immediate Past President).
The patrons of the chapter are: Engr. Sam Adeleke, and Engr. Oluyemi Morakinyo.
The investiture of the chairman, Engr. Ajuyah Silvanus, MNSE and swearing in of the new EXCO members comes up in January, 2019.
