The Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Professor Umar Danbatta has said that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is making efforts to ensure that the critical bill that will make telecommunications infrastructure critical is passed into law.
Danbatta made the remark at the Emerging Telecoms Technologies Research & ICT Innovation Forum held at the Bristol Palace Hotel, Kano State.According to him,the access gaps in the country deprive many Nigerians, especially those in areas “that we call unserved and underserved areas, with telecommunication services. Depriving a good number of Nigerians lots of access to communication services”.
He added that the NCC is making efforts to ensure that the critical bill or the bill that will make telecommunications infrastructure critical and therefore deserving of protection, criminalizing the vandalization, will soon be passed into law inother to protect the huge investment in telecommunications infrastructure in this country.
