N1.64bn fraud: Taraba-State ex-Gov’s no Case submission rejected

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Gudu, rejected the no case submitted by ex- Governor of Taraba State, Mr. Jolly Nyame, and ruled that he had case to answer with respect to the 41charges of criminal misappropriation of the state’s N1.64bn preferred against him.

Justice Adebukola Banjoko, after dismissing the ex-governor’s no-case submission in a ruling, ordered him to open his defence.

The judge ruled that the prosecution had with its witnesses a number of documentary evidence tendered, contrary to Dariye’s contention, made out a case linking him to the alleged fraud.

She ruled that a prima facie case had been made out against Dariye, warranting him to open his defence.

March 8 is fixed for the accused to open his defence.
