BauchAhead of the May 29 transition of power in Bauchi State, Lawyers in the State have engaged youth group and Islamic leaders towards achieving peaceful transition of power as the state witnessed attacks on three communities over the weekend.

This is coming shortly after three persons were killed by some youths allegedly to be members of ‘Sara Suka’ which later forced the State Government to announced a-12hour curfew.

Body of Bauchi Lawyers of Conscience, BOBALAC, Bauchi Assembly of Youth Political Actors, BAYOPA have engaged Islamic scholars in preaching tranquility using the period of Ramadan as the State awaits change of government.

BOBALAC and BAYOPA in their joint press statement signed by Mr. Shipi Rabo Esq and Malam Jibrin Jibrin respectively said they have began “mobilisation of religious leaders who are pious men of God towards seeking the grace of the Almighty.

“The detractors, prophets of doom and enemies of progress will never succeed. God’s willing, Bauchi State will survive the antics, evil plans and machinations of these ungodly and retrogressive elements”.

They however charged the security agencies to remain vigilante in curbing the insecurity in the state ahead of the inauguration of the next administration.
