Manchester United reject Real Madrid’s £60m bid for De Gea

Manchester United have turned down a £60m offer from Real Madrid for David de Gea, according to Sky sources.

De Gea was within minutes of joining the La Liga giants in August 2015, only for the deadline-day deal to collapse. He eventually signed a new deal to remain at Old Trafford.

That deal has two years to run, with the option of a further 12 months.

Real’s £60m bid is more than three times the £18m United paid Atletico Madrid for the Spain keeper in 2011 and almost double the current record fee for a goalkeeper.

However, United has rejected it, as they prepare for a return to the Champions League next season.
