A 22-year-old man, Akanmu Rasheed, was sentenced to 3 months imprisonment on Thursday by the Magistrate Court in Osogbo, for alleged housebreaking.

In his statement in the court, the police prosecutor, ASP. Fagboyinbo Abiodun mentioned that Rasheed committed the crime on January 5, 2020, around 3:00 am at Zone 9 behind capital Hotel area in Osogbo.

The offence contravened the law under section 509 and cap 34 vol. ll law of Osun state, 2002

The convict pleaded guilty to the two charges levelled against him by the police.

The defendant, Ibrahim A. Imran applied for the bail of his client and petitioned to the court to temper justice with mercy, mentioning that the convict is still young.

The police prosecutor, however, opposed the bill, telling the court that the convict committed a similar crime on December 31, 2019  and was arraigned before the Magistrate Court 1.

The Magistrate, A.O Ajanaku, therefore, sentenced the convict to 3 months imprisonment with the option of fine of N10,000.
