Head coach of Lagos amateur football side Moonluck FC, Tony Onuoha has charged his players to demolish all opposition that stands in their campaign to winning the Lagos FA Cup this season .
He gave this order to his players at the start of this year’s challenge cup campaign when they defeated Yobo Fc a fellow amatuer side in their first match at this year’s Lagos FA Cup which was decided by a penalty shootout after their match ended in a barren draw.
Moonluck Fc are making their third appearance at the prestigious football competition after their run in last year’s campaign saw them exiting the tournament at the quarter finals.
The match played at the Agege Township Stadium under a hot scorching sun saw both teams showcasing the best of youthful football,with efforts by the opposing team trying to outplay each other but at the end of full regulation time,the match ended goalless and a winner was decided via penalty kick.
Moonluck’s goalie , Oche Taiwo was the man called upon by his team mates to make the difference as made a save which gave his side the much needed advantage to advance into the next knockout phase of the competition.
It was jubilation galore for the 2016 quarter finalist as they left Agege Township stadium in high spirits to prepare for their next match.
Captain of Moonluck Fc ,Peter Ogonyi disclosed that they have learnt from their mistakes from last year’s campaign and hope to do better this year and implored on the fans to continue to support them as they advance in the competition.
Coach of Moonluck Fc Tony Onuoha disclosed to the media that he is optimistic that his lads will go places as the tournament progresses.
